We are now accepting new patients via Telehealth!
Neshoba General Hospital will begin offering telehealth services to our clinics on April 2nd, 2020. Patients will now have the opportunity to connect with our providers using a laptop or smart phone from the comfort of their homes. Established patients, who have been evaluated by a Neshoba General clinic provider since February 2019, will have the option to request an appointment through telehealth. This may be achieved by the patient calling their current clinic provider’s phone line.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR NESHOBA TELEHEALTH?
Established patients and all patients who have been evaluated by a Neshoba Clinic provider in the preceding one year period have the option to request a telehealth appointment. Eligible patients must also carefully read and electronically sign the on-line Telehealth Services Acknowledgment and Consent Form.
HOW TO OBTAIN A TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENT?
Telemedicine services will be available Monday through Friday at all Neshoba Clinics, except Urgent Care, during designated times with our providers. Call your Neshoba General provider’s phone number where you can schedule a telehealth appointment. Once scheduled, an invitation will then be sent to the patient via email and text message with further instructions. The patient will receive a phone call from the provider’s nurse to review past medical history and current symptoms approximately 15 minutes prior to the scheduled video call with the provider. If the triage nurse or provider feel that the complaint should be evaluated in the clinic setting, the patient will be given an expedited appointment slot at the nearest available clinic.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENT
A patient with a telehealth appointment will receive a call from the Neshoba Clinic telehealth provider’s nurse (the triage nurse) approximately 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time of the telehealth appointment. During this call, the triage nurse will review and discuss the patient’s past medical history and current symptoms and make an initial determination if the patient’s condition is suitable for a telehealth provider encounter. If the triage nurse feels the patient should be evaluated in a clinic setting, the patient will be given an expedited appointment slot at the nearest available Neshoba Clinic that is appropriate for evaluating the patient’s condition. A general description of conditions that are not suitable for a telehealth encounter are described below in this overview.
If the triage nurse determines the patient’s condition is suitable for a telehealth provider encounter, the telehealth encounter will proceed as scheduled. The telehealth provider will consult with the patient through an audio and video encounter. The encounter will be similar to an in-clinic encounter in many ways. The telehealth provider will ask you questions and evaluate your condition and may prescribe necessary treatment. As with an in-clinic encounter, it is important that the patient provide complete information and answer all questions truthfully and completely. If the telehealth provider determines the patient should be evaluated in the clinic setting, the patient will be given an expedited appointment slot at the nearest available Neshoba Clinic that is appropriate for evaluating the patient’s condition. An in-person clinic visit may be necessary because of the nature of the patient’s condition or because of the limitations of telehealth described below in this overview.
Telemedicine services will be available Monday through Friday at all Neshoba General Clinics during designated times with our providers. Also, on Saturdays from 8am to 6pm and Sundays from 10am to 5pm at Urgent Care.
